Forbes Highlights Benefits of Blockchain Litigation Database

August 05, 2019

Noting that “law firms are increasingly becoming involved in the development of technology,” resulting in “a new kind of law firm that looks as much like a fintech startup as a legal outlet,” Forbes covers Murphy & McGonigle’s innovative Blockchain Litigation Database in a feature article (8/5/19).

The recently launched database contains more than 250 cryptocurrency cases from different jurisdictions into a single, searchable location. Daniel Payne, the architect of the Blockchain Litigation Database, is quoted throughout the article.

Created by Murphy & McGonigle’s Innovation Lab, the BLD tracks total cases, trends, designation of cases as criminal or civil, and whether it involves the SEC or the CFTC. The first full year of tracking cases in the Blockchain Litigation Database showed that 150 cases were filed in 2018.

The Murphy & McGonigle Innovation Lab allows the firm to serve clients as technology fundamentally transforms the way they do business. In addition to the Blockchain Litigation Database, products launched by the Innovation Lab include the M&M Defend App, the Blockchain Law Center and StraDIM, Murphy & McGonigle’s proprietary e-Discovery product.
